Allergy Testing
If your body has a negative reaction to food, beverages, pollen, or medication, you may be experiencing an allergic reaction. Most allergic symptoms occur quickly after exposure and range from mild discomfort to extreme and sometimes dangerous reactions.
Allergy testing is a simple and effective procedure to determine precisely what is causing your symptoms, and how severely it may affect your body. Allergy testing will also determine whether you have an actual allergy or a different condition, like a food intolerance or sensitivity.
With Centre Santé A-1, booking your test is easy and convenient. It can be performed at our office, or our Medical Technologists can come to your home or office. No waiting or travel! Testing is done by an accredited lab, with most results emailed to you and your doctor within 24-48 hours.
Diagnostic Blood Tests
Having a diagnostic blood test is an important part of your regular checkup. Standard blood tests include a Complete Blood Count (CBC) which measures red and white blood cells, platelets, and hemoglobin. Your doctor may also request cholesterol and triglyceride tests to measure heart health, and metabolic tests to measure your electrolytes, calcium, and glucose. Depending on your condition and history, Centre Santé A-1 can perform many other blood tests at the request of your doctor.

Throat Cultures
A throat culture test is a swabbing of the back of the mouth to identify infections, like Strep throat, Thrush, Gonorrhea, Scarlet and Rheumatic fever, Diphtheria, and more. A culture test is painless, although it may be mildly uncomfortable. It takes a few seconds and is done with a cotton swab.
The culture test is available at our Centre Santé A-1 office, or a Medical Technologist can come to your home or office to administer the test. Results usually take between 2 to 5 days.
Urine & Fecal Analysis
Urine & Fecal analysis is valuable test for monitoring organ function and screening for cancer markers. Centre Santé A-1 will provide lab results in 24 hours.
Our trained health professionals provide the testing supplies, along with specific instructions on how to properly prepare and collect your samples so that they can be accepted by the laboratory.
Centre Santé A-1’s affiliated mobile service provides pickup of your samples at your home or workplace. Samples are kept at controlled temperatures within special containers to maintain stability.
Electrocardiogram
Electrocardiograms record electrical signals from the heart to evaluate your heart health.
Centre Santé A-1’s highly-trained laboratory technicians use state of the art equipment to administer resting electrocardiograms. The electrocardiogram equipment produces a personalized ‘tracing’ or reading based on your history, or your condition at the time of the procedure. The readings are delivered to the laboratory where they are interpreted by a Cardiologist. You and your doctor will receive results in 48-72 hours.
Centre Santé A-1’s affiliated mobile service provides resting cardiograms in the comfort of your home or workplace.
Toxicology & Drug Testing
A Toxicology & Drug Test screens for the presence of drugs through blood, sweat, urine, or saliva. This test may be a condition of your employment, a school policy, or part of treatment for substance abuse. Most drug test screenings are available within 1-4 days.
Our trained health professionals will assist in the procedure to ensure the optimal specimen is collected without compromising the sample.

Mobile Services
We offer all of our clients our mobile services. If you are too busy to be displaced, an elder or a disabled person, or are anxious about medical exams, this is the perfect solution for you.
adults, post-surgical and bedridden clients, the elderly, teenagers, young children, toddlers, newborns and premature babies.
We will travel West to Hudson, Qc, east to Anjou, north to Blainville and St. Jerome, and to the South Shore as well.

Depending on your doctor’s requisition, you may need to fast for 12 to 14 hours. Early mornings are usually preferred for most persons who must fast before.
Urine tests may require that you use a sterile container to collect an early morning mid-stream sample. For specialized tests, the appropriate preparation will be explained to you by your doctor or our laboratory personnel.
As many as 25 routine tests can be done with 1 to 3 vials, each holding 4 to 5 ml of blood.

Most results are sent the same day or within 24 hours. In the case of an emergency, we can forward your results to your physician within 2 hours.
Yes, it is mandatory to have a requisition from your physician.
With close to 25 years of experience doing blood work with different age groups we are prepared and capable of dealing with any difficult or unusual circumstance. Sharper needles, needle size and using lancets on babies’ heels has also facilitated the process.
A house call is $55.00 plus taxes.
Routine testing is usually between $150.00 – $ 200.00. If you have insurance coverage ranges between 80% and 100% bringing your cost to between $0.00 and $40. What is not reimbursed can be claimed as a medical expense on your income tax return.
Our services are not reimbursable from the RAMQ ( La regie d’assurance maladie du Quebec). There are however, some exceptions with hospital drop-offs.
